Third Class

Teacher: Ms Gardner

April 2018

We have been working hard in 3rd class and have been doing a lot of work on multiplication and division in maths. We enjoy putting these new skills to use when working out countdown on the whiteboard!

For our assembly we talked about working together and we sang a song called ‘The Body Song’.

We have just completed a unihoc tournament in PE. It was very competitive but well enjoyed. We also had football and GAA training this past term.

We have used our atlases and map books a lot recently and have focused on Ireland, then Europe and then the World. We have especially enjoyed reinforcing this work but playing ‘Know your Ireland’ and ‘Know your Europe’ in the computer room.

We also looked at ‘Scratch’ and hope to go back and do more work on that before the end of the year.

In art we did some sewing by making little Valentine’s Day hearts and then making hand puppets. It was challenging at times but we all got there in the end!

We are looking forward to the summer term where hopefully the weather will improve and we can do more activities outside.
