New Year’s Newsletter
Dear Parents & Guardians,
A Happy New Year to one and all; I’m sure this is going to be a great one!
We had three students who won a colouring competition for tickets to attend the Baldoyle pantomime “Entangled”, so it’s well done to Conor Collopy, Jessica Lea and Jessica Newman on this achievement; I heard they all enjoyed their “night out”.
Some of our 3rd, 4th and 5th class students took part planting 300 trees in Baldoyle as part of the ‘Plant for the Planet’ initiative. Delighted so many of our students participated in this environmental project, especially as it was during their weekend!
We are delighted to welcome Randal Henly back to the school this Wednesday 25th with his presentation of “Fun with Science”- an entertaining lecture and demonstration that shows how exciting science can be. This will be in the Hall for classes 3rd-6th. Randal, who is currently the organist at St. Mary’s Church, does not request any payment for this, (typically €220) so we are really grateful to have him come out to the Burrow.
Ms. Lauren Burnby, a first year student from the Church of Ireland Centre in DCU, will be doing a teaching practice with Junior Infants in March and she will be with the class every Monday in February to observe.
May I remind any parents of children hoping to start school this coming September that our closing date for applications is January 31st.
Fiona, from “Get Smart Media” is instructing classes 2nd, 4th, 5th in iPad use and doing some fun and educational activities in editing, programming, animating and movie making. She will be with us until the February half term.
